Travel Barcelona
Barcelona is one of the most important cities of Spain, and holds a rich history to cherish. Spain is a country that has a treasure trove of ancient castles, moor lands, awesome architecture and such, but sadly enough, every tourist comes to Spain to enjoy the “sun and sands” experience and don’t really get to see the essence of Spain, which lies in its cultural history and the remnants of it that tell stories of its past. If you get a chance to visit Spain, do enjoy the sun and sands, but also take some time out to get to know the city for what it is – experience the spirit of the city by walking around its streets – look at the buildings and feel the city that you are in, as you must do wherever you may roam, if you want to have a memory of the place other than just resorts and good times. Its actually shocking to think that many tourists just go to a resort when on vacation – that’s because wherever you go, a resort is going to give you the comfort of a resort, not the experience of a city. Frankly speaking, if you are going to spend all your time in the comfort of a great hotel, you could check into a place right in your hometown!
Things to do in Barcelona
When you are in Barcelona, be sure to take time to visit the Sagrada Familia, a massive temple monument designed by the famous architect Antonio Gaudi – the building has been under construction since 1882, and will take another 50 yrs or so to be completed – now that’s what I call dedication! Well, that’s the number one tourist attraction at Barcelona. You could get a list of more places to visit at the Barcelona Tourist guide or from personal Barcelona travel reports - that’s an informative link for someone looking to not miss out on any of the great places to visit at Barcelona (as far as cultural heritage goes at least).
Nigthlife in Barcelona
After spending a tiring day visiting the landmarks of Barcelona, you may want to have an evening of leisure – Barcelona is known for its nightlife as well! It has bars and pubs and cafes for the non-drinkers, a variety that covers all themes you could imagine. When looking to party at night, you could visit any of the bars around the city center. If you do go to one of the smaller ones, keep a count of the number of drinks you’ve had, some of the places are notorious for billing you with drinks you haven’t had! That may be a little hard on the reputation of all the bars in general, but better safe than sorry? And oh yeah, the bars start filling in after midnight, and are open till six at least, following which the countless after hours start, so don’t worry about getting ‘timed out’ before you’ve had your fill, at Barcelona.
